Pente for C64 and Android

Pente is an abstract strategy board game for one or two players, created in 1977 by Gary Gabrel. A member of the m,n,k game family, Pente stands out for its custodial capture mechanic, which allows players to "sandwich" pairs of stones and capture them by flanking them on either side. This changes the overall tactical assessments players face when compared to pure placement m,n,k games such as Gomoku.

Players can win in two ways:

1. Aligning Stones: Place five of your stones in a straight line (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally).
2. Capturing Stones: Capture five pairs of your opponent's stones.

• Tournament Rule: In rated games, the second move of the first player must be at least three intersections away from the center of the board to ensure fairness.

The game has three skill levels, saved Hi Score tab, multichannel stereo SID music and tournament mode.

Installation on Commodore C64 / C64 Ultimate: Install the CFG file first to set the processor speed and stereo sound.

Installation on Android phone: when installing the APK file, your phone will try to prevent you from installing it. In that case, choose "Details" and choose "Install anyway" or "Install without scanning.
